{"id":539,"date":"2026-02-24T12:44:26","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T11:44:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.dcuci.univr.it\/lvlt2026\/?page_id=539"},"modified":"2026-02-24T14:29:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T13:29:14","slug":"jozsef-herman-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.dcuci.univr.it\/lvlt2026\/jozsef-herman-award\/","title":{"rendered":"J\u00f3zsef Herman Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In memory of&nbsp;J\u00f3zsef&nbsp;Herman (1924\u20132005), his widow Marianne&nbsp;Bakr\u00f3-Nagy and the&nbsp;<em>Comit\u00e9 international pour&nbsp;l\u2019\u00e9tude&nbsp;du&nbsp;latin vulgaire&nbsp;et&nbsp;tardif<\/em>&nbsp;have established a prize for the best contribution by a young researcher at the biennial International Colloquium on Late and Vulgar Latin (<em>Latin&nbsp;vulgaire&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;latin&nbsp;tardif<\/em>). The prize consists of a diploma and \u20ac500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The criteria for the prize are the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The applicant is in the initial stage of their academic career,&nbsp;<strong>working on their dissertation or having finished it recently<\/strong>, participating in the International Colloquium on Late and Vulgar Latin for the&nbsp;<strong>first or second time<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The paper presented is of good quality, deals with&nbsp;<strong>linguistic<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>problems<\/strong> of Late and Vulgar Latin (including the transition from Latin to Romance), and demonstrates originality and familiarity with relevant concepts and issues in contemporary research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The presentation is delivered in a&nbsp;<strong>clear and coherent<\/strong>&nbsp;fashion (taking into account that the audience is an international one).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Co-authored<\/strong>&nbsp;contributions will&nbsp;<strong><u>not<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;be considered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The jury will consist of the members of the&nbsp;<em>Comit\u00e9 international pour l\u2019\u00e9tude du latin vulgaire et tardif&nbsp;<\/em>taking part in the Colloquium. They will compare notes during the closing session of the Colloquium.
